Below are the instructions for downloading and installing. The actual configuration of ExamWritePad is covered in the Documentation PDF that comes with ExamWritePad. Our website support page also has some general FAQ articles covering configuration changes. Also make sure you are aware of the licence agreement further down this page.

Step 1: Choose the correct file for your method of deployment:

MSI – Installer (with Icons) ExamWritePad

Step 2: Deploy the file as you see fit, within your network environment etc…

Step 3: Launch ExamWritePad to test that it runs with the default settings.

(Optional steps: You can now launch the ConfigEitorGUI application to start editing your ExamWritePadSettings.json with over 200 settings to configure, make sure you read the description of each one so they are familiar to liaise with your exams office to provide the best solution for students.)

ExamWritePad is a 64bit only application and can be run from a network location, for best results, run from the local disk of each computer.

LICENCE AGREEMENT

IMPORTANT – READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING THE SOFTWARE

This Software Licence Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and ExamWritePad Limited (“Licensor”) for the use of the software product(s) known as “ExamWritePad”, which includes computer software and may include associated media, printed materials, and online or electronic documentation (collectively, the “Software”).

By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not install or use the Software.

LICENSE GRANT

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Licensor hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software for your internal business purposes only.

OWNERSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

The Software is licensed, not sold, to you by the Licensor, and the Licensor retains ownership of all copies of the Software. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and treaties. Licensor and its licensors reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in this Agreement.

RESTRICTIONS

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or transfer the Software, or any portion thereof, except as expressly authorised by the Licensor in writing. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law. You may not remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from the Software or any copies thereof.

TERM AND TERMINATION

This Agreement shall remain in effect until terminated by either party. You may terminate this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software and destroying all copies thereof. Licensor may terminate this Agreement immediately upon notice to you if you breach any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies thereof.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

The software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The licensor does not warrant that the software will meet your requirements or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

In no event shall the licensor or its licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, procurement of substitute goods or services; Loss of use, data, or profits; or business interruption) arising in any way out of the use or inability to use the software, even if licensor has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The licensor’s liability to you for any cause whatsoever regardless of the form of the action shall be limited to the amount paid by you for the software.

GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law provisions. The parties hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in the United Kingdom in any action arising out of or relating to this Agreement.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Licensor with respect to the Software and supersedes all prior.
