General Support

If you are experiencing an error on launch or during the use of EWP, please provide further detail by doing the following:

  • Launch “Event Viewer” (Search for it or press the Windows key and start typing Event Viewer).
  • Expand “Windows Logs”
  • Click on “Application”
  • On the right-hand side click on “Filter Current Log…”
  • In the box “<All Event IDs>” type in: 17181 and click on OK
  • On the right-hand side click on “Save Filtered Log File As…”
  • Type a ‘filename’ of your choice and then select the save as type as “CSV (Comma-separated)”.
  • Click Save, then you can now email the file to [email protected] along with the issue you are experiencing in detail.

Next, we would like the Debug log file.

  • Turn on debugging in your config file using the ConfigEditorGUI setting the option “DebugApplication” to 1.
  • Now re-run EWP and the step you need to replicate the error/issue.
  • A log file is generated with the date/time, these files are obtained from the following path:
  • C:\ProgramData\Andrew Sheldon\ExamWritePad\{version number} or
  • C:\ProgramData\ExamWritePad\ExamWritePad\{version number}
  • you can now email the HTML file to [email protected] (you may need to rename or ZIP the HTML log file so that it bypass spam filters)
